* LA COMBE DES GRAND'VIGNES ESTATE
With a wine-growing tradition passed down from father to son, this
The estate is run by two brothers who love beautiful hillside terroirs.
We particularly appreciate the white wines: their level of purity and finesse places them among the most accomplished in the region.
Several vintages (Argile sur Schiste in Chignin, Les Salins and La Coulée de Proserpine in Chignin-Bergeron) highlight the expressions of the plots and all the wines are now aged for at least one year.
The reds are progressing: the Mondeuses have been vinified without sulfur since 2016. The work in the vineyard, certified organic, requires exemplary integrity on heroic slopes.
In view of all these positive developments and this immense amount of work, we can think that the progress of the field is not over.
The wines:
High-flying jacquères!
Vieilles Vignes 2022 opens with great purity and
sharp but also with a wide, greedy smile.
Clay on Schist 2021 shows a tighter profile but
juicy, deep, with momentum and a smoky character, a subtle bitterness
as a mineral signature.
Coup de Théatre 2022, which brings together the estate's white grape varieties, is honeyed, pulpy and sunny, reflecting the nature of the vintage.
The Bergerons are also very convincing, if Exception 2020 lacks neither poise nor purity, it still requires a little time to express itself fully.
In the same vintage, Saint Anthelme displays an alluring exoticism with notes of dried mango almost Jurançon, spiciness, depth, and dynamic development.
Already tasted last year, Les Salins 2019 offers a more marked aromatic evolution, a delicate biscuit character and a particular, truly saline length.
The reds are not left out!
Sel de Marius 2021 is fresh and digestible, with a Gamay feel, a lively, easy-drinking wine.
Fragrant, very fresh, delicious, the Mondeuse Et ma Goutte of 2021 is an undeniable success.
Just like Les Granges Tissot 2020, the aromatic definition is refined, between small red fruits, camphor and vegetal notes (Sichuan pepper, savory). We find this sense of detail on the palate, chiseled, elegant, always close to the small fruit.
A perfect score!
